Variable Data & Serialized Codes
Unique codes per piece — for traceability, anti-diversion and one-code-one-product programs.
The Challenge
Serialization turns every label into a unique record: each piece carries its own code, and every code must be readable, unique and traceable back to your database. Anti-counterfeit, channel control and recall programs all depend on this integrity.
The failure modes are the ones customers fear most: duplicate codes, unreadable codes, and files that do not reconcile with what shipped.
Why Labels Fail
Variable data is printed differently from static print — one mistake repeats on every piece. Insufficient print contrast, ribbon or ink inconsistency, and inadequate verification allow bad codes to ship unnoticed.
Process discipline, not ink chemistry, is usually where serialization programs succeed or fail.
Material Solution
We print variable codes inline with your static artwork, selecting code size, format and contrast for your scanner ecosystem. Code structure, capacity and database format are defined with your team before production.
Process Control
Every code is read and checked as it prints: our automated inspection (MDC-300 on our converting lines) verifies readability to barcode grade ≥ 2.5 per ANSI/ISO 15416, consistent with our Quality Specifications, and flagged codes are rejected rather than shipped.
How We Verify
Each batch ships with a read-code verification report, and we reconcile produced, verified and delivered code ranges against your database before dispatch.
If your program requires a specific GS1 or custom data format, we confirm encoding rules with your IT or traceability partner before production — discuss with our engineers.
