Tobacco Tax Stamp Label - Double-Layer Sticker

A UV tobacco tax stamp is a security label that proves authenticity under ultraviolet light. The stamp carries UV-reactive inks and coatings that stay invisible in normal lighting and glow when a UV lamp or scanner is put to them, so an inspector can confirm a pack in seconds without disturbing it.

Double-layer construction

The label is built as a double-layer sticker, with the UV layer sitting over the base label. That lets the covert feature be applied as its own layer rather than mixed into the artwork, and the separation is what makes the mark hard to copy: counterfeiters rarely have access to the specialised UV inks and the printing method the layer needs.

Overt and covert features

Overt elements, such as a visible pattern or text, can be combined with covert ones that appear only under UV illumination. A stamp can therefore be checked at three levels — by eye, by UV lamp and by scanner — depending on who is doing the check. UV stamps are used across alcohol, tobacco and pharmaceutical products.
