Cigarette Duty Stamps & Duty-Paid Labels
A cigarette duty stamp is the certificate that shows the tax on a pack has been paid. Tobacco products are stamped before they reach the shelf, so the mark is both a legal requirement for the manufacturer and the first thing a buyer can check to tell a genuine pack from a fake one.
Void tamper protection
The usual construction includes a void feature: if the stamp is peeled, the adhesive leaves a visible void pattern behind and the label cannot be reapplied cleanly. Because the stamp is placed across the seal of the box, that pattern is the evidence that the pack has been opened or resealed without authority.
Where it is applied
- Cigarette packs and cartons, across the seal
- Cigar and other tobacco packaging
- Taxable goods that must carry a duty mark before sale
Working with the market
Duty stamps protect revenue as much as the brand, so the specification usually follows the rules of the issuing authority. Send us the market, the pack format and the checks your inspectors use, and we will confirm the stamp and its security features.
